7:30 pm - Classes and stuff
|
Classes for this semester:
COP 1500 - Intro to Computer Science (cake class) COP 2006 - Intro to Programming (cake class) MAS 2121 - Linear Ops & Diff Equations (minor headache class) MHF 2191 - Mathematical Foundations (major headache class)
As some of you may have heard, I have started working this semester. Yes, work - the bane of my existence. I'm tutoring math up to and including Calculus 2 at the moment, but I guess all they heard when I said that was "I will tutor every statistics course." Statistics is the most boring math subject ever, if you can even call it math. Also, to top it off...most of the people I am tutoring in stat are twice my age! It's a major pain to be so patient all the time, but its worth it. Anyway, school is going well.
In video games, I haven't had much time to do anything other than play a few hours of Dungeon Siege 2 a week. However on to the real reason for this post...
I finally got a ps2 to USB converter to work with my CF pad. All songs get! I have the sound and the video hooked up to my tv, which I placed at approximate DDR machine height. Too bad my computer randomly skips while I play. I'll fix that when I'm not so busy.
Other stuff:
My ldls are kinda high :(
Hurricane names - http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutnames.shtml Maybe El Nino will act up in 2009 and I'll get a hurricane named after myself.
Arrrrrr...

1:13 am - Grades and Schedules
|
Spring 2005 Grades
Composition 2 - B+: I got this because I turned in three of my essays late for a total of -30 points. Go figure. The class was interesting and I wrote all my essays on video games.
Calculus 2 - A: I could have gotten an A in this class with my eyes closed, which is what I basically did.
Statistics with Calc - A: I'm glad I took the final, or else I would have gotten an A- in this class. This has to be the most boring class ever. I could barely sit through class without zoning out and frequently forgot to bring my textbook and/or pencils. I'm not sure if I hated the subject or the professor so I'm a bit worried about taking Calc 3 with the same professor.
General Physics II w/ lab - C+: I am glad this torturous class is finally over. I could not stand another minute of this class. Physics is the most boring subject ever. I didn't want to take this again so I was forced to do my homework, study a little, and turn things in. So I guess that this class was a plus anyways. I probably would have gotten a higher grade if I understood the advanced mat he used at the very beginning of the course. He used Calculus 3 when the co-requisite for the class was only Calculus 2. Good riddance to physics.
Band - ?: He will probably just give everyone and A or something.
Upcoming Classes:
Summer 2005 Professional Writing (undecided) University Colloquium (undecided) Job/Internship (very likely)
Fall 2005 Intro to Computer Science Intro to Programming Linear Ops & Diff Eq Mathematical Foundations Calculus 3 (undecided) Band (undecided)
This semester went relatively well academically but I still need to work on my time management a bit. Now I no longer have to take Physics or English ever again, though I will need to take a few more Gordon rule classes. I have most of my schedule mapped out for the next few semesters (I am on the 5 year plan) and I might work this summer. Eh, and my laptop is broken again. I have reached the conclusion that the video card is dead from thorough testing. I ripped my external hard drive out of its case and installed it in my desktop. I really need the extra space with my laptop out of action. My grandparents just told my my crazy german great uncle is coming to visit tomorrow! Wow, I sure wish they would tell me these things sooner. Anyways, Guild Wars is fun. More of you should play.

Wow, this is definately the week from hell. On Saturday, my desktop's sound broke. I fixed it as I normally do and then it broke again on Sunday. Oh well, at least I still have my laptop. So I start revising my ENC 1102 final essay Sunday night and Monday morning. Wake up early, and get to my Calc 2 exam. Didn't study that much except for Friday but I am still positive that I netted an A on it thereby finishing with an A in the class.
I get to Comp 2 early since I finished my Calc 2 exam quickly and revise my works cited page. I need a combined Final and Exam score of 293/300 points to get an A- in English because I was lazy and procrastinated my 3 essays for the class (-10 points each for a day late). I finish the exam and tell the prof that I will need about 30 min to print out the Final Essay. I go to the library with my laptop to finish up the abstract, but my screen shuts off in the middle of typing. I turn it back off and on, but the screen is still black. I go back to the professor to show my problem. The screen decides to turn on in front of him!
Anyway, I burned my essay to a random CD laying around the classroom (Thank God!). The screen decides to go black when i decide to turn my laptop back on in the parking lot, so I jot down my abstract in my notepad. It's a good thing I saved my essay to CD since the screen only worked one more time before blacking out again during physics. Later at home, I did some tests to find out my laptop's video card is totally fried. I also hooked up my Sound Blaster Extigy to my desktop to get some sound while waiting for Dell to replace the internal sound card.

Well, it's been about 2 days since I have last had access to the internet. Thanks to my awesome neighbors, who let me borrow their connection while I visit their house, I have internet for a bit.
So lets see, I have watched Snow Dogs, The Butterfly Effect, and Kangaroo Jack. I was going to watch Underworld as well, but I flipped onto it when it was playing on HBO a while ago...and I saw the last 10 minutes or so. That was yesterday. Today, I went to the beach...and got fried. Also, I have been playing the WC3 campaign for the first time during the past 2 days and am about halfway through the undead campaign.
Going back to CT tomorrow morning for more fun with the bird who never shuts up.

Took a trip to Foxwoods today, because my mom wanted to buy something there. I stopped at the arcade, expecting the same DDR Solo 2000 mix that was there 2 years ago, but they had an Extreme mix instead. The left pad there doesn't like hold arrows, so don't play on that side. Also, the right pad in the Warwick mall sucks as well. Anyway, after not playing a while, I get tired after about 2 games:P
Anyways, I'm going up to MA again for a few days, which means I will not have an internet connection at all for a few days. I don't see why though...we are fitting 8 people in a house that is meant for 7 absolute max. There are enough beds for 6 people and 1 on the couch. I'm sure it will work out somehow, no matter how hectic things are, I just had better not miss my late-night TV shows.

5:13 am - friday and saturday
|
These past two days were really fun. Something reminded me that Zelda 4 swords for the gamecube was out (a commercial), so I called PJ and we went to the store to buy it. After buying it, PJ and I tested it and then I called Nicole and Mills and told them to come over. I didn't have enough GBA-GC links, so we had to run to EB to get another. I picked up Sonic Advance 3 while there as well. When we got back to my house, we hooked up and started playing 4 swords. (Mills somehow lost his GBA, so he had to borrow my old non-sp gba)
I played as green link, PJ played as red, Mills was blue, and Nicole was purple. It all started out pretty normal. We all didn't really know what we were doing (except for PJ and I who had a couple hours head start). I was kind of the evil player on Friday. Throwing people into each other, off cliffs, into fire and being a general gem whore netted me a whole lot of hero of darkness votes. After laying low for a while though, Mills became the default hero of darkness:P It was really funny to piss of mills by whoring all his gems followed by a swift throw into something hurtful. Other evil things: picking someone up and chucking them aside as you take their gems, pulling someone into fire with a boomerang, stealing gems with a boomerang, stealing the keys just so you can get the unlocking bonus, and raping chickens. Yes, once again, you can rape the Cuckoos. After beating on one for a while, Cuckoos come out of nowhere to gangbang you and anyone else who happens to be outside:P
The greatest parts of the game are where all 4 players need to work together. On the harder teamwork puzzles, you usually fail miserably for a few times before succeeding. One that stands out is the dark palace boss. Other times, you just need to group together to pull a switch, which we dubbed, the "Conga Line butt fuck".
After playing story mode for a while, we played some shadow battle. This mode is fun, but gets a little repetetive when everyone gang-bangs you. Even so, I can't wait to unlock the last 5 arenas for some more multiplayer action. One more night of playing should be enough to finish the game, and then much fun will be had with the new multiplayer stages.

I made a new icon because I was bored.
I think paintballing on saturday was a bit too much stress on my body seeing as it still hurts to walk. I kind of blame it on not playing ddr, but it may just be a case of not standing up for a while.
Besides that, I have a physics lab exam today, which shouldn't be too difficult, AND I also have a chemistry and physics exam later this week. Fridays are always off though, so a long weekend is something good to look forward to. Anyway,
It'll work out somehow
